Arthur - The Stray Dog is a four minute computer generated animation short film. Inspired by a true event, the film tells the story of athlete Mikael who participates in an extreme trekking race in the Amazon rainforest. During a short break he meets the street dog Arthur and attracts his interest unintentionally. From this moment on Arthur follows him but the athlete is not particularly happy about his new companion …
This project is my bachelor thesis from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hanover. The production from scratch to final comp took about six month.
Sebastian Fischer and I got support on the animation part from fellow students. We are also grateful for music by Renja Schmakeit and sound design by Andreas Gajewski.
I was responsible for story and set development, directing, storyboard/animatic, Mikael and props modeling, generating of vegetation, texturing, shading, grooming, set layout/ -dressing, final layout, camera, animation, lighting, rendering and editing.
